CHOIR SECTION HELP SESSIONS

Message from John - 28th February 2010

Hi All,
On Wednesdays, when the whole choir is not meeting, or other times, if more convenient to all, I am offering occasional section help sessions, to concentrate on specific parts/ special requests by members/or general help in the sight-singing of that voice part.
We have held general workshops before, but not when we have concentrated solely on one part. This could be useful, but does depend on reasonable support of members. Subject to numbers, these sessions could take place at 'No 57' from time to time, over the course of the choir year.
(Sopranos would need a larger venue. The church choir vestry is a possibility with the Priest's permission.)

I'm only prepared to do this if there is a good response from members of a section - otherwise it is a waste of everyone's time!

If your group is interested, please discuss with your section rep. on the committee, who will liaise with me to arrange matters.

[I would like to offer our TENOR SECTION first shot at this.]

Your comments, ideas, 'how to help' suggestions, are always welcome.

Cheque Presentation for RDA...
On Thursday 12th November 2009 several members of the choir visited the stables near Pattingham where Alan Hickman, our Chairman, presented a cheque for £1747.31 to the children who benefit from the RDA. This impressive sum had been raised by the choir at their Christmas and St George's Concerts during 2008/9.

The chosen charity was RDA, the riding for the disabled association which provides opportunities for people with disabilities to enjoy a safe, healthy, therapeutic and recreational sport, using horses.
